went out yesterday and I wandered a while no shoes on my feet, not a cloud in the sky I walked among the trees in the golden summer light til the moon rose above in a clear starry night I strayed off the path when a light caught my eye and I came upon a clearing made festive and bright there were strange and wild dancers with flowers in their hair and they bid me to join their frivolity there "come and dance with us here on this green we'll revel til dawn where no mortals can see do not desire from this forest to flee stay and be merry on this midsummer's eve" the night air was sweet as the raspberry wine we danced until the grey light of dawn filled the sky I woke up at noon with nobody in sight and there in the clearing, no footprints but mine

when spring comes and the flowers bloom so bright and sweet when all the woodland fruits are ripening for me I will wake from my heavy winter's sleep I will emerge to find the world renewed and clean grass in the fields and budding leaves upon the trees I will blink in the sun and feel the breeze and I'll leave behind my burrow finally bounding fast and free I'll have everything I need out in the meadow blooming colorful and green I'll find a lover who is waiting to find me we will dig a home and start a family babies nestled down sleeping peacefully bounding fast and free I have everything I need
